Dear Sir,

Ascariasis is an important nematode infection that can be seen in many tropical countries around the world. [1] To control this infection, the sanitation promotion is needed. [1] For chemoprophylaxis management, the use of effective of disinfectant and antiparasitic drug is a method to be discussed. Here, the author reports on the effect of gold nanoparticle on viability of Ascaris spp egg in stool samples. Overall 100 stool samples confirmed with Ascarisspp egg contamination were used. Focusing on test system, the gold nanoparticle salutation was prepared and used for test of effect on Ascaris spp egg as previously described in the referencing paper. [2],[3] Each stool sample was divided in two parts, one part was treated by test system and the other was used as negative naive control. The microscopic egg counts before and after testing (10 min) were investigated. It can be seen that there is a significant difference in change of egg counts between test and control group (P-value < 0.05, t-test) [Table 1]. Based on this study, it can be seen that the gold nano can significantly reduce the egg count of Ascaris spp comparing to negative control. This might imply that the gold nano solution might be applicable as a disinfectant system for decontamination of Ascaris spp contamination.
